Hartke Hydrive vs. fEarful

Sign in to disble this ad
Just a quick question guys.
For the sake of argument and yes, for the sake of the "whoah" factor.

Would be powered by the Carvin B2000.

Hartke Hydrive:
Two 4x10s and one 2x10.
Running at 2.5 ohms

or

Two Fearful 15/6 cabs running at 4 ohms

Which do you think would get louder, deeper, awesomer, etc, etc...

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting either stack. No, I don't NEED that amount of volume. But don't deny the possibilities.

Two 410's and a 210 is not the best idea. I don't think the 210 is really going to be helpful here. If they are all 8 ohm cabs - it's a 2 ohm load.

Without hearing the Fearful first hand and only going on what I read here, Fearful would win without issue. Better tone and volume. The Hartke 410's would sound great too, it really depends on what kind of tone you are after. Both rigs would be crazy and get the job done in many situations.

get the fEarful. You won't be sorry. I'll never go back to a 4/10, and the Hy-drive does sound nice, but it's got nothin on my fEarful. Mine weighs about 50#s, and walks all over my old 4/10. If you really must make the masses submit to your will, do a 15/15/6/6.

I'd love to get the 15/15/6/6 but I do need to go modular. There's no way that massive cab would fit in my car like that.

then you cant go wrong with 2 15/6 cabs. Btw, I built mine without the horn. The "air" up there just doesn't seem to be a need for me. I can tell you that the 18sound mid is outrageously powerful. The amount of "cut" this cab has is amazing. The cab is so potent, I gained headroom. I really didn't expect to have to turn my amp down, after switching cabs. I'm driving it with a Carvin BX1500. I will tell you that this setup has enough oats to vibrate the rack off of the cab. Rubber feet, latches, velcro, or build the rack into the cab, are the trick.
