Hartke LH-500 w. single Aguilar db112: great experience

Sign in to disble this ad
Sunday morning I had a great exprience with my Hartke LH-500 driving a single (8ohms) Aguilar db112.

We played a short 4 song show during some kind of business award show. As we were supposed to play only 4 songs, I didn't bother to bring the db212 and the Sadowsky tube amp.

I figured, even if the amp/cab was to weak sounding, it wouldn't matter as it was only for about 15 minutes of performance.

But the LH-500/db112 sounded great and not weak at all.
We had PA support and good monitoring.
But my cab was the only bass source on stage. It was more than enough to make everyone including me very happy.

My db112 never sounded as full and effortless with my Markbass SA450 (same wattage at 4ohms and 8 ohms).

Musical style is kind of rock/singer/songwriter with 2 electricg guitars and keys/cello and a strong drummer.

The Hartke is a VERY good amp, regardless of its great price....

Now, has anyone compared the LH-500 (or LH-1000) to the Fender TB-600/1200?

For real! The db112 is a killer cabinet with THE live tone that works. I'd hate to see you sell it, especially in the UK where they are costly and harder to replace.

I have the DB212 4 ohms but I'm tempted to order the DB112 for small gigs....hmmm
