I am thinking about getting one of these and a 4 ohm 8X10 cab. Any opinions? I also plan on trying my RBI in front of it.

I have one I use on a 4x10 plus 1x15 cab set-up. The thing is a monster. And the dual channels allow you to make adjustments in volume to each cab. I love mine - I just wished it weighed about 10 lbs less!

I run a LH500 through an Ampeg 810 and it sounds good, adding an RBI would probably make it sound great.

I have the LH500 and LH1000. I run my LH1000 with an Ampeg SVT810, and the LH500 with an Acoustic 810. Both sound pretty darned sweet, with the Ampeg being the better sounding of the two. I don't know much about the RBI but from time to time I will run my VT bass with mine and it sounds awesome. I have also read a little on here about guys swapping out the stock preamp tube to a mullard to get a fatter sound, of which I haven't tried yet.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you run the 1000 bridged at 4 ohms through the Ampeg?

Yes, I run it bridged. If I ever have my two 810 cabs under the same roof again I actually would like to run an 810 off of each channel to see how it sounds, just for fun and laughs. One rig at the practice space (LH500), and one rig at the home jam room/gig rig (LH1000).

I run mine w this setup:

Bridged because the cab is a 4 ohm cab @ 1000watts so I am running one for one don't think I am hurting anything and it sounds gr8. I also use a Hartke Hydrive 115 @ 8ohm 500 watts I unbridge the amp for that. I don't know if that is the correct way or not but I like it.

Someone told me that there might be an LH500 for sale in the classifieds right now, actually. It's a 500, not a 1000 though.

It's a preamp made by Tech 21.

Just did the LH500 through an 8x10 last week.

I was never to crazy about the Tech 21 with my LH500. I want to try the new VT pedal. My Hartke Attack pedal is cool, but I hate how in bypass mod the EQ is still active.
