It's been to the tech 3 times...still under warranty.

Before you pepper me with the basic questions: I can uplug the LH & throw my HA4000 up there with all conditions being the same & no noise, crackling, or other noxious tones. I have taken away the power strips, extension cords, and gone straight to grounded plugs and the noise persists. Since my cables work w/the HA 4000, I see no reason to think they're bad.

The tech can't find any of this.

Cleaned? Check. Tube replaced? Check.

Bass is straight into the amp. No tuner cord, passive precision plugged into passive jack.

I love(d) the tone. The grit goes away after the amp warms up...15 or 20 minutes later.

I have been burned on 3 auditions by this amp. All 3 happened after I got it back from the tech.

Getting sound at 0? I had a similar problem with my LH500 for a while. Eventually a loose screw that had been rattling around in the amp since I had it shipped to me caused it to blow up, after I took it to my tech it was fixed, so I don't know what to tell you. I believe he replaced the transistors in mine.

This isn't the typical hiss that accompanies normal operation. I'm talkin' ***! Are my speakers blown! type noise. I posted links so you can get the full effect.

FWIW: The tech was from Hartke's recommended repair list. There was no 'rouge' repair person involved.

UPDATE: Amp back repaired!

I appreciate Hartke's expidited help in this manner. My LH1000 is back and appears (according to the invoice) to have a new pre-amp. Wow!

Anyhow, that beefy, weighty, thump-a-bump, I'M TAKIN' YER HEAD OFF! tone is back.

Now, if I could only find a gig.
