Hartke LH500 Additional EQ???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Can someone please help me. I used to have a Hartke 3500 which I loved as I could shape the sound to more or less exactly what I wanted. Unfortunatley it developed a problem and is getting repaired and dont know when getting back.....

...anyway after reading reviews I bought a LH500 to replace which again I love the amount of power this amp produces but it has very limited EQ and so I cant reproduce or make a nice shaped sound I had.

Is there an EQ unit I can add to it from the effects loop or some kind of additional pre amp? Any suggested models etc would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had a LH500 and liked it, thought it was a good value, but wanted more eq, fatness & presence. In short, I really wanted a tube amp. What worked for me was taking the instrument-level output of the (long-discontinued) Hughes & Kettner BATT into the LH500's input. Between the two sets of gains & eqs, I was able to dial in some really nice tones. If you don't need the drive/warmth of the BATT, I'd think any high-quality bass eq pedal will help you get your tone.
