Hartke LH500 amp settings
I'm one of those guys constantly tweaking setting looking for my "ultimate tone" Like I'm sure many of you fellas are as well....
When I bought my bass rig I was on a budget....Hartke is played by many bass players her in NE Ohio in the bar band scene so thats why I went with Hartke and also because the gear is reasonably priced for what you get. I have the LH500 and Hartke XL 4X10 cab. I also use a Tech21 VT bass pedal and Line6 G30 wireless system.
Here are "my" settings.....
Bass 9..........Mid 5.......Treble 2
Tech21 VT pedal:
Level 9 o clock......Mid 12 o'clock.....Character is Full on.........Drive 9 o'clock......Low is Full on......High 12 o'clock...
I play with a Fender Deluxe Mexi Precision Special and also a Fender Jazz....Both are active and both are 4 strings....I also Have a LTD B404SM which I never use because I now have my Fenders......
Would any of you tweak my settings to get more of a growly tone or do I not have the correct AMP or Bass guitars capable of getting a growly tone?
I have plans on getting a Warwick 5 string as soon as we get gigging and start to get money.....The band is starting to choose songs which require a 5 string and the cheapo 5 string I have isn't up to par. Every Warwick thread I read pretty much states how Warwick basses have loads of growl which is what I like.....I'm not a traditional Fender P bass rounds type guy......Nothing wrong with that mind you if that is your tone and what you like......
My Fender Jazz can get growly if I turn the tone knob up some but I really have to watch how much I go on it cuz it can get pretty obnoxious.....I typically roll the tone to barely on for my Jazz and full off for the PJ Fender because I don't like the tone on with that bass......Wrong or right?
