I run a LH500 and a 410TP and it sounds awesome. I used to run it with two. I can only imagine an XL series would sound even better with its chambering and porting. The only con I can think of is that its a square 410 so the sound is at your knees, however, you will have no problem filling the room. The aluminum cones sound great with overdrive and distortion also, just in case you wander into that realm.

cheers.

A classic all Hartke setup ...
Only con I can think of, is that the 410XL is heavy.

don't know anything about that head, but I know 2 things:
- Hartke makes awsome amps and you won't regret if you buy it
- xl cabs are very heavy, but you get used to carrying them around

It will sound better through the XL then the new Hybrid cabs. I think the XL series sounds a little smoother on the top end. You might want to consider the Gallien krueger MB series cabs which are lighter and sound just as good.

Should sound sweet, just watch out with the bass output on the LH. I don't imagine an XL can handle all the beef an LH500 can put out. Otherwise, the 410xl is a classic for a reason.

Now a 4.5 xl -- that would be even better

I think LH500 only gives you 330w @ 8ohm but i'm not 100% sure. If it does the cab will take it because it's 400w (and some people say it can be pushed over the edges without problems) ..but that doesn't mean you need to have your amp at 10

You're right. I remember the 410xl having a lower power handling spec. An LH500 + 410xl should be a potent, reliable rig -- just remember at load out: lift with your legs!

I haven't tried a 4.5XL yet, but most people are very pleased with those cabs.
So yes, I would recommend them too. And for that puny 20 euros, get the 4.5!

I don't have a Hartke cab but the LH500 is a brilliant head. It's the fourth Hartke head I've owned and my favourite, despite having the least features of all of them.

I think the lack of knobs on the front shows how confident they were that they'd produced a great-sounding amp.

The XL 4.5 is my favorite cab. It's a monster. It doesn't leave my house anymore because it's too big and heavy but it's what I play at home whenever I can. Nice full sound with all the punch you could ask for.

4.5xl has only one minus, that is weight. But you can fix that problem with your band members
