Hartke lh500 vs. SWR 350

I'm a high school student looking for a head to pair up with an Avatar cab. I think I have narrowed it down to these 2, but am also open to other suggestions in the 250-300 dollar price range. I play (and gig) lots of jazz and rock, and right now all I have is a little 30 watt Fender practice amp. In is sickly weak for playing in ANY group, and I need to upgrade as I have been gigging lots of places lately that don't provide an amp. I love both of these amps but can't deciede between the 2, so I want your opinion on them.

they're both fine and reasonably priced amps. gk also makes a nice reasonably priced amp.

also, if you don't mind buying used, you can find outrageous deals on swr's top of the line stuff.

SWR 350 (if the pre-fender version, redface) > Hartke lh500.

But +1 to Jimmy, GK should also be in the mix, maybe a 700rb or an 800?
