A guy at Sam Ash told me the new AK series was designed for Sheehan. He said it stands for "Ampeg Killer". FWIW

Yes, I love my HyDrive 4x10. It's loud, punchy and much easier on my old back than the Eden 2x12 XLT I had before it. I don't care if the OP works for Sampson lol.

Also, I'm more excited about Dave Ellefson being an endorser than Billy Sheehan (then again, it doesn't really matter much to me what some other dude plays - I base my gear on what sounds good to ME).

I dunno... that may have been called for... A profile less than a month old jumps in dropping pretty obvious marketing drivel...

and yeah, Larry may be a standup guy, but the paid blogger/forum poster isn't Larry.

but meh. I would actually be ok if they would go with the "The first one we built was for Jaco" marketing.

Second thought edit:
plaws1979, if you aren't employed in the underground marketing field, I apologize. Mea culpa.

I'd advise you to take the time to fill out your profile. If anything, it's going to help avoid such misunderstandings.

No harm no foul. it's all cool and wouldn't care if you did- as long as someone poses it as such.

So here's pulling the thread in the right direction-

what would it take for us to put you in a new Hartke today? I'll get one in and detailed for you while we finish your paperwork up, won't take but a minute.

Seriously- Would an endorsement be a deciding factor in making someone switch? For me it probably works the opposite- someone I don't dig becomes a poster child for X product I was already using, but not married to... yeah that might become trade bait.

Hey Folks, new here (and to bass, save my stint as the bass player in my high school jazz band) looking at buying my first amp. found a Hartke ha3500 head for $250. any thoughts? thought it might be a good match for my short scale bass. rehearsing at a place that provides a cab. but will be looking for cab soon.

They didn't "lure" him.

There's vids of him saying why he left Ampeg and it's pretty awesome to see/read why. In short words, their new stuff is junk and he didn't want people buying that junk based on the fact that he plays/played stuff that was still mostly reliable b/c it was older and being listed as one of their "Artists".

Someone here who's name starts with a "J" and ends with an "M" would do well to take note... Even Sheehan isn't an across the board blanket apologist... thankfully.

Smile something to match a ha3500

try your head with some diff cabs, and find what sounds good to you man!

(suggestions, not endorsing, the hartke transporter 410xl cos it matches the head. and reasonably priced.)

thanks. going to give it a listen on Mon. If it sounds good, at $250, it seems like a good deal.
