Hartke Transporter 410TP inquiry

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently use a Hartke Transporter 2x10 (210TP) as my home cab. I picked it up for $75 on the local craigslist, so it wasn't a bad deal. Now a 4x10 has shown up about 30 miles from here and I could probably get it for $150.

I know the Transporter series was Hartke's low-end line, so I'm just wondering if you guys think it would be a useful purchase to satisfy my desire for MOAR LOUDER! My 210 is a sealed cabinet, and as I understand it (although I could be wrong) the 410 is actually ported.

Anyone using one of these? I know the aluminum drivers are a love/hate thing. Personally I don't mind it a bit. I'm just at odds with either running a 210 and 410 together or saving up and getting a 15/6 or a higher-quality 4x10 neo cab. I'm just wondering if I won't be happy enough to justify spending the money on it rather than saving it up for a higher-end cab.

A competent, working cab for $150 bucks? Are you kidding me? How many gigs will it take to amortize that? It'll definitely be louder than your 2x10, and you are already familiar with its perceived shortcomings and aren't bothered by them. Test it out, make sure all the speakers are working and the carpet is in good condition, make your best deal, and go.

It's a simple game, really.

This. Short, short money and if it checks out, you'll be happy-happy.
