Sign in to disble this ad
bought this Hartke 8x10 a while back , had a blown speaker replaced with some cheep POSspeaker, they rewired it as a 2x10 and left the other 6 in the box.....I bought a replacement VLF 1008 speaker to replace the cheepie, but all of the wiring has been take out, the horn is wired to the 2 10s that were left wired but the rest of the box has no wiring...any one have digram for this box? or any 4 ohm 8x10 with a horn ?

What is the impedance (or DCR if not printed on the speakers) of the 10's?

Wow that makes things messy! Have to give that some thought so one speaker failing doesn't kill the whole cab.

Repeat on bottom four speakers, tie the positive from both haves to the tip of the jack, both negatives to the sleeve of the jack.
Final impedance 4 ohms.

How is it wired now? If it just is connected to the jack (no cross-over) it is a piezo and....well just connects to the jack. If you have a crossover (caps and chokes mounted to the input jack board) leave the horn wiring as is and use the two wires now going to the existing woofers in place as the point where the two "pairs" of wires from the top and bottom halfs connect.
