This is the first I've seen of it, but a pair of 3" spkrs will NOT get you very far, unless all you want is a bedroom practice tool. The slightly larger Pathfinder bass combo has a pair of 6" spkrs, but no drum machine, and it's also a fine bedroom practice amp, with surprisingly good tone.

Has anyone opened the bass version up?

The box shows special dual cone speaker with shiny silver centre, but when I look at mine I can only see the left speaker but not the right. I wondered if the right speaker is just a plain one or are they both the same, and for some reason I just can't see my 2nd speaker through the mesh?

I was impressed with the build quality, and sound wise does exactly what I'm after for the money.

Hi, I just got one yesterday, mine seems to be the same as yours in that I can see a shiny cone on the left nothing on the right apart from the grille behind the cloth on the front.

If you take the battery door off you can see the magnets for speakers each side so I think there is actually a speaker there.

Build quality good, sound quality good (considering the size of the thing) for the drum machine and for running mp3 through it, but my bass output is very low indeed especially on lower frequencies. Volume is OK if I whack the Drive knob up for the distorted sound but I can hardly get a clean bass sound out of it at all. Is yours the same?

The vid here: VOX AC1 Rhythm VOX Bass - YouTube is the only one I can find but difficult to tell with Youtube. It seems great on the video ...

The same day you posted this I found the same thing myself... That by taking the battery cover off one can see through the small squares to the speakers. The left speaker looks like it has a larger magnet, that is deeper that goes right to back of "cabinet". The left speaker has silver dual cone with large rubber edge.

Definitely has 2 speakers.

I run mine at 50% drive, 60% volume and that is satisfactory. I think its quite loud for its size. I do find that playing 2 (very) different notes close to each other causes a distortion... but spaced further apart they are clean. I have only played it a few hours so far.
