The PH412 is my favorite cabinet ever! Its the same size as an 810 and weighs 145 pounds, but it has great tilt back wheels, handles everywhere and neo speakers which keep the weight fairly reasonable for such a huge cab. The 412 is so well balanced tonally and is just a joy to play through. I use mine with my Carbine M9 and the combo is just out of this world. If you can transport this cab, it just simply doesn't get much better in my opinion!

I play more of a classic rock type sound with some funky elements here and there. Mostly I just make noise with 4 and 5 string Stingrays!

I'm also very interested in this cab, any idea how it compares to the 6x10?

Another quick question, the 4x12 can be run at 4 ohms, correct?

Yes. They can be purchased in either 8 or 4 ohms. I use two 8 ohm PH4x12's with a Titan. Hard rock, and pretty much all sub-genres of Metal.

I usually use my Walkabout Scout w/extension cab for other jobs. The 4x12's would work for just about anything, but are a little overkill for bass/piano/marimba gigs...

Best Cab I ever owned..Sounds killer with the Titan. Articulate bass and mids will cut through anything. I am a huge fan of 12" drivers for bass in general for live applications..

Totally this.

That setup was downright brutal. I miss the 412 in a big way!

I own a Vintage PH412. Hands-down the best-built cab I've owned. I swear the thing could survive a grenade blast.

Sound-wise, it's less defined in the mids than the 8x10 and 6x10 cabs I use (both Ampeg), but possesses a lot more low end and high end snap than either. Works great for heavy rock, but falls behind the Ampegs tone-wise in my opinion for more old-school classic rock and r&b tone IMO.

For reference, I power mine with a mid 70's SVT.
