Notice any difference in the sealed cab vs ported cab, or are they blending nicely?

The SVT, NEO, and B HLF (410) cabs are front ported, the PF 410HLF is rear ported. Low frequencies are non-directional, but are there issues of phase or something else that would be involved? |

The distance between the speakers and the port is meaningless.

| | | | About to pull the trigger on one of these myself! Been using the PF115 cab with the PF500 head, but I recently switched to an Orange Bass Terror, which I'm enjoying a bit more than the PF, but I find it's a bit too low-mid rich for a 15" speaker, so I'm gonna go with this 4x10". Also, the flip top with the leather handle on top has proven to be a bit flimsy on the road, so this cab looks to be the perfect solution. Really like the Eminence drivers in these, too. They're a fantastic value. Can't wait to try out the 4x10"!

The SVT410HLF does have the three front tube ports while the PF410HLF has the rear ports. They do have a slightly different frequency responses (see links below) but you can still expect the same low end rumble from either cabinet: http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/pf-410hlf/ http://www.ampeg.com/products/classic/svt410hlf/
A major difference between those cabinets is there RMS wattage and impedance. The SVT410HLF is rated for 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms, while the PF410HLF is rated for 800 watts RMS at 8 ohms.

Wonder why Ampeg decided to not put Neutrik speakon connectors in the crossover?
I would think you would want those with 800 watts of power running through two of those, with the PF-800 I mean.
I thought 1/4" was inferior?

They do present somewhat of a shock hazard in amps that put out more than 500w, but that so isn't me to use high wattage, and a 500w amp is the most wattage in an amp I've ever owned and I so don't need it

I was kinda worried though, someone said "you can lose power through 1/4" and thats why speakon is better." /shrug So I was really repeating someone else's statement. Glad I asked you guys.
Thanks for the replys fellas. So far Im loving the sound of this cab. So much more bottom and fullness than the pf210 I once owned.
