I'm not convinced that the 610hlf would really match that well with a tube head, IME that cab is kinda boomy to begin with.

I use an Ampeg V4bh with mine....100 watts...plenty of power........tone to die for........I get compliments at every gig from other players on the tone.....its rich and full, makes the band sound great. I have used and owned most rigs available....you can't go wrong with this combo.

The tone from the V4BH is as sweet as it gets! I use mine with a 810e. But really a SVT7 Pro Would be awesome too!

What is it you don't like about the PF-500?

I really like my Ampeg B4R. I don't know if they still make them, but U.S. made ones can be had pretty cheaply on the used market. Very versatile- I've powered four cabs at once! The mono bridge into 4 ohms rating is 1000w RMS, and I don't think that's an exaggeration. Cons? It's 42 lbs., and contains no tubes. It certainly won't "hold back" any cab!

The 7 PRO Would kill with that cab.
But, imo, so would the pf500
But the 1kW of the 7 will drive the cab, no worries

I have the 3 Pro and am considering this cab to match it.

By "kill" I think he means overpower. The 610 is 600watts RMS. you'd have an amp head with considerably more watts than the cab can handle.

I had the same cab. I had a GK 700RBII head and didn't like it. I went to GC and tried it with the PF500, didn't like that either, SVT 7 Pro was the winner to me with that cab. I however tried a GK Neo 410 cab with my 700RBII and it was what I was looking for, so I sold the 610. Good luck with your search.

I'd like to hear from anyone who head owned SLM and the newer LOUD Technologies 610--as much difference as 810e?
