Head Advice

I am now mostly an exclusively fretless player with a Rob Allen Mouse and a Pedulla Buzz. I have an AI CodaR Series 2a (600 watts) with an AI extension cab. The Rob Allen through this rig comes very close to nirvana particularly in the right room. To get this fab tone i do nothing to the amp settings other than to dial in some bass and a little mid sometimes-(the Mouse has no tone control). By contrast I am not so happy with the way the Pedulla sounds through this rig. I am finding myself constantly tweaking both bass and amp. I would like to find a better mate for the Pedulla in terms of a head. I am thinking about pairing it with a Bergantino 2x10. I gig pretty often but these tend to be smaller lower volume affairs so no need to have a real loud set up. Any ideas? One suggestion, from someone very knowledgeable, is the EA doubler but I am concerned that it may be too much like the AI sound?

I currently the AI clarus 2r with berg 1x12s and or 2x10.

The bergie 2x10 is a bit darker. Very powerful. I wonder if a more colored amp is more of a solution. I've had good results mixing TC electronics heads with bergs.

Most of the time I add in a tech 21 para driver or Demeter preamp for color.

I have found that my Carvin BX1500 is wonderful with my Koa Carvin fretless six string. The bass has EMG active pickups installed. The amp drives a pair of Acme B2 2x10 cabinets one per output channel.

That said I still turn to my self designed full tube pre-amp driving a Carvin DCM1000L power amp through the same cabinets. This is the rig in my avatar. Except that my avatar seems to have disappeared!! Ah That's better!

As I stack my cabinets vertically two take the same stage area as one so I always use a pair no matter the size of the gig.
