| | | | Thanks for the reply but it isn't what I need to know, I simply need to know what cable do I use to connect my head to my cabinet? |

The main thing to remember is that you should NOT use an instrument cable.

I don't think the new GK Neo boxes have a 1/4 speaker input, due to that 'active crossover' thing.. not sure though. I don't think they use combo jacks either, but rather just a speakon.
It shouldn't be hard to find a relatively short 1/4" to speakon cable for the OP. |

The current GK Neo's have both speakon and 1/4" input... so either a simple 1/4 to 1/4 speaker cable (again, make sure it is a SPEAKER cable) or a 1/4 to speakon will work fine.

It is confusing, since the newer 400RB models kind of look like the more modern 700/1001 heads with the speakon outs and the 'tweeter/woofer biamp capability (versus the 800RB, which still has the 'classic' GK look). My head was spinning for a moment!
Head: 1/4 outs
Cab: Speakon or 1/4 input.
So, either way, he is fine. Again, that will be a very nice lightweight rig!!!!!!! |

You might have to make your own cable if you can't find a short one with two different plugs on it. That's easy enough though if you feel like you must have a Speakon.
Just take a 1/4" to 1/4" cable, cut off one plug and wire a Speakon plug to it.

| | | | Oh ok sorry, im not very good with amp tech xD the Neo manual says it has a speakon connector, and the head has a 1/4, so will a 1/4 on both sides be fine ? |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Mississippi Coast | | Another thing: G-K supplies a 4 conductor Speakon-Speakon cable with the cab (at least they used to). You can modify one end with a 1/4" plug, but you have to make sure you connect the correct two leads to the phone plug.
really, If it were me, I'd just go with a 1/4" to 1/4" and call it a day>
