Is this head enough??

Hey TB,

I'm thinking about getting the Carvin micro BX250. I am wondering if it will have enough juice to power a 4x10 and a 2x10?

4x10:
800W RMS
Sensitivity: 96db

2x10:
400W RMS
Sensitivity: 97db

Both are 8 Ohm, so I will be using the full 250 Watts.

I am thinking it should do fine, but am wondering would both cabs hang in a band with 2 guitards with 100 watts on 4x12 cabs??

I can shell out the coin for the Carvin BX500 which would be more than enough, but If the BX250 will hang then I really want that one.

I am not the brightest in the area of being able to figure this stuff out sight unseen, but on paper I shink the smaller head would juice the cabs just fine.

Thoughts please....

Thanks,
Jeff

Should do ok. Though with two loud 100 watt 4x12 guitar rigs Id prob want two 4x10 bass cabs.

You can "get by" but will be much better off with the 500. You will constantly be pushing that little amp to its limits. It wasn't designed to compete with 100 watt guitar stacks. It is more of a portable, small gig / rehearsal solution.

As Eric said, it will keep up, but I would go to 500w with those two 4x12's also.
