| | | Head and Speaker's watts... HELP
Sign in to disble this ad
Hiho, I just need an answer which will maybe lead me to buy my new amp.
If my Head is a 400W one (4Ohms) and then, I use 2x210 (250W,8Ohms)...
Is that dangerous if my head runs 400w and my speakers can only take 250?
If no, is there a way to limit my amp to 250W ?
Thanks! |

And besides, that's its maximum watts. Most of the time you presumably won't be running it at full tilt
And besides, besides... those tens will reach maximum excursion and start farting like elephants way before you deliver enough wattage to fry the drivers. I think.

That equals a 4 ohm load. The amp is going to deliver 400w @ 4 ohms, but each cab will only be getting 200w--well within their rated 250w ceiling.
Disregard my previous statement on the matter |

The rig will be fine if you remember this: ANY amp can blow ANY speakers. It's up to the user to use common sense.

Like others said, use some common sense and you will be fine.
