I have only tried one of these modern GK micro amps so I can't comment on it too much as it had some issues just sitting on the dealer's display (cutting out intermittently), but I have always liked the "normal sized" Gallien-Krueger amps I have owned in the past.
It would be nice if the Aux in had it's own level control so you wouldn't be totally dependent on the volume control of the MP3 player (for example).

Bit of overkill for a headphone amp, but I have it so I might as well use it. Still, I agree with Woodstockz about how much fun it is to hear your bass fill up a room. BA108 is a sweet little amp for the money.

It works really well and I can hear everything perfectly. This is with my 12/6 and a markbass 'markstand' (wedge).

Keep in mind that not all Class D amps have the same features as the MB-200. For instance even the MB200's larger siblings, the MB500 and MB800, do not have auxiliary inputs. While the do have effects returns, they're monaural.

The local store sells orange, blackstar, line6. I think I've seen a few hartkes in there as well.

If you call the store you'll get one of them every time you call, and they'll yak with you until you know everything you need to know ... even if you don't buy anything. MF not so much. SW a little bit.

I find one thing that, to me, is a design mistake: Quote:
LINE OUT/CD INPUT—This 1/4”(tip-sleeve) jack serves two functions. For “play along
practice mode” connection of a portable CD (or Cassette) player with a high impedance output
(approximately 600 ohms or higher) to this jack feeds the signal into the amp with the volume
controlled by the output control on the CD player only. The instrument plugs into the normal input
and is controlled by the volume knob on the INTRO 90. For “gig mode” this jack provides a post
EQ signal for connection to a direct box or unbalanced line level input.
| Using one jack to serve as both an input and an output!

Sounds way better than through the speaker, quite good actually. I'm considering ripping the amp out of the box, rehousing it and using it as a desktop headphone amp. I don't know why though. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
