headphone tone

I absolutely love the tone I get with my Carvin BX500 through the headphones.

How do I achieve this tone through a cab? I'm guessing that I need a cab that doesn't color the tone? Help almighty TB!

I lolled!

Maybe P.A Speakers? They're designed to not 'color' the tone, though some are better at this than others! This is one of the reasons I am getting PA speakers for my 'cab', but I'm poor so I can only afford crappy ones

Good luck man.
Peace.

How about running your headphone output to a power amp to a full range speaker cab?

Yeah. That.

Definitely a power amp. (How did I forget that?) Don't amps color the sound more than cabs anyway?

You can't get that sound.

Earphones create a different acoustic environment. Can't be done in an open room.

You may get better or worse, but it 100% CANNOT be the same.

Run your headphone output to a pair of studio reference monitors via a mixer. That'll achieve the sound closest to what you hear through the headphones.

I know this should go to another thread, but why do sound mixers in churches wear headphones the entire service? This fits right into what has been said above - the headphones put you into an un-real acoustic world. What you hear is NOT what the audience hears. Can I get an amen!

Assuming your useing nice headphones in the $100 or up price range, your gonna need a high qaulity hifi full range speaker system. Going from processor to house PA is ussuallky the closest most get to that unless they spend a lot for their personal bass rig. Brands like Eden, Markbass, etc are going to get you more into that hifi sound area as example. Of course these cost a fair amount to. For full range sound on the cheap, something like the JBL eon powered Pa spaekers can do pretty good job of it and have a overall fun sound to them.
