Hey Guys,

We currently use headphone monitoring and I'm looking to buy a good set of headphones because mine are shot. What's a good make/model to go with?

Thanks!

I bought Shure E4 in ears. Handle the bass quite well. Got mine new via Ebay.

I like the AKG K77 for the price and bass. You didn't say how much you want to spend but for less than 100 bucks I like these.

Posting a price range will help a lot in this case...I own a pair of Audio Technica CK10 ....love 'em and highly recommend them since they are seriously studio reference not bloated bass...but then again, it also depends on what you are looking for in headphones.

Denon D-2000. Sealed cans make them appropriate for monitoring while recording. The frequency response into the highs and lows is astounding, yet they measure extremely flat. Low impedance makes them easy to drive with even the headphone jack of a laptop, although they only get better with a proper amp. Best of all, they can be found for <200 bucks. Lightweight and comfortable, these are my favorite headphones on the planet, and I've had a lot of cans as well as IEMs. Read about them here:

GK Ultraphones work well for me. When monitoring the board on a live gig, they block outside noise effectively, allowing me to hear the music clearly without overcranking the headphone volume.

When listening in a quiet environment, the sealed cups contain the sound effectively - there's no bleed from the headphones into nearby mics. Every time I let a drummer use 'em, they want to take 'em home.

Wow ... thanks for the responses. I don't really have a range. I don't really know much about headphones so I am just looking to learn and find out what you guys have used and liked.

Thanks!
