| Heard a Markbass 102P combo... A guy brought one in last night at the show just for himself. I have heard many reviews and comments for this combo, but never played one or heard one live. Nice, it was. Interestingly, this is a room I'm used to playing my Little mark III cab and one or two 151P cabs in, so, other than the different bass the guy was playing I could kinda compare the two rigs. Of course, I don't know what his settings were on the amp, but if he's like most Markbass players I'll bet he was nearly set neutral with very little filtering.
Anyway, the point is, I just wanted to say that it had a tighter sound with less low lows than what I've been hearing when other guys have played through my 151P with (supposedly) similar settings. I must say it's about exactly what I expected. As far as the quality of sound it was excellent. Many speak of the "Markbass tone," but to me it was just a good all-round bass tone. The venue is mid-sized (maybe 75-100 souls), and the volume level was moderate. The amp did just fine to handle the room. It looked so small up there, and that made it a bit surprising that it filled the room so well.
So, to those of you playing a 102P combo, my hat's off. Nice sounding rig ya got there.
