It's the front grille that covers the speaker(s). You can get it either in black like originally shown in the stock photo on that site you posted, or you can get it in a grayish silver color. I personally like the black, It's what I have on my Powerhouse 6x10 cabinet. Just looks more bad ass if you ask me. But really to each their own.

they should not have used a comma after the word 'duty'. That makes for confusion. They should have said; heavy duty black or silver.....
Sloppy proof- reading.

So the black and silver are light duty?

Guys!!

Thank you!!!
I agree about the comma. I don't speak english very well, it, sometime, gets misunderstood.

I know that they stopped producing the Road Ready. Do they have any line like that? The RR looks robust...

Is PH robust? Or the cabinet gets scratches easily??

I have 3 PH cabs, and although I don't move them every week, they have been moved a few times and they still look pristine. My only gripe is the front grille. I have a very hard time re-attaching it with those little rubber posts.

The PH cabs hold up well, and if you buy new you'll get a nice slipcover to reduce scratches for in-transit. Mine are about a year old that I bought brand spakin' new and still look great.

The RR stuff was awesome but it was jsut too freakin' heavy to move around. These do just fine. Extremely well built.

The PH cabs are built like tanks. it is tolex, so if your're too rough with it like sliding it on it's sides or front yeah you will eventually rip it. But the slip-on cover really helps so the tolex doesn't take the abuse.
If you buy a used cab and it doesn't come with a cover, you can simply buy one from Mesa.

My 810 didn't come with cover, so I bought one back around March. But my idiot singer managed to tear a hole in the cover trying to slide the cab across a sheet of pegboard in his truck.

Lay the cab on it's back when reattaching the grille.

Those things are way too heavy. I owned the Road Ready Powerhouse 1000 with the 15 and the 4 10 inch speakers and thought I got a steal at 400 dollars. Until I spent 350 at the chiropractor.

You don't want that cab unless you have someone else or a crew moving it for you. If you move that a couple times a week YOU WILL have back issues.

Built like a tank, and need about 2500 horsepower to move it.

I like I said I have a PowerHouse 6x10 and It see's a lot of action. It does have some road ware cosmetically, however the thing holds up like a champion. I am really happy with it and cannot see myself getting a new cab anytime soon. Mesa does sell protective slip covers (nylon I think they are) cases or else get a hard shell road case or flight case if you are worried about cosmetic damages.
