I would consider a 210 and a 410 stacked...like this.

It is more versatile (a choice of a 210, 410 or 610 configuration and easier to pack in a vehicle.

Most 610's I've heard were kind of disappointing. However they say that the Bergantino 610 kicks serious booty.

Nice rig picture....+1 on 610 cabs not being all that great. I got rid of my Ampeg 610, kept my 810E, 410hlf and (2)micro210's....... I like options the ability to tear down and expand if I need to . . . .

It's a 4 space rack containing a Furman PL-Tuner, Sansamp RBI preamp and a QSC PLC 2402 power amp.

I used to have an SWR Super Redhead that I placed on a Goliath IV. It looked sharp.

Good plan.

I've got an SWR 6x10 and she rules. Lots o' punch, tons of low end, crystal clear.
Tried out the Ampeg version @ work(mind you I used a diff head) and it didn't seem to be as bright as my cab.
The 2x10 + 4x10 setup works well, just make sure you're running two 8 ohm cabinets. ALSO, with that, you could do some experimenting w/ ported & sealed cabs to control the boominess that you can run into w/ a big ported cabinet, IME.
The Berg has had nothing but fantastic reviews on this board. My only concern is $$$$ and places to try them out before buying.
Emperor cabinets might be worth checking out too, if you'd be into coming into Chicago to pick up a custom made, solid birch cab (which I'm looking at pulling the trigger on)

Plainly put, I love my 6x10. Has enough beef to keep up with my guitarists who use full stacks(jerks.) but still fits in my Honda Civic.

Rest assured that that crop of wine was drank a long time ago.

Also, the lows helped to settle out any sediment that the filters missed.

don,t you have alot of volume difference problems between the 410 and 210? i have an avatar 210 and would be great to pair with a 410 but i,m worried about that. the avatar 210 is a 500w cab and my gk700rb11 is 480w at 4 ohm so no concern of too much power to the 210

The Ampeg classic 6x10, is a very nice cab.
Used one for years.

But for me, the end all 6x10 cab is the Bergantino.

Agreed! It's a great choice and would serve you well for rock music in general. The 410 is quite loud too....very articulate and punchy midrange with solid low end, and clear high end.

Sure, if you base your opinion on Ampeg's 610, I can see how you could see it that way - it is quite a disappointment when compared to any other 610s on the market, or even when compared to the SVT-410HLF or SVT-810e...

Regarding the OP - if you're looking for a modern sound with lots of highs and lows, the Mesa PH610 is as good as it gets, with the SWR Goliath Sr coming in a close 2nd... For "old school" fridge-like sound, the Berg NV610 is the best available...

Joe.

I gigged with a 210+410 setup for a couple of years, and I'd say it's value depends on the situation:

If - like me - you find yourself pretty much always needing 610s, a single 610 is easier to move around than separate 210+410 cabs... that's also providing that your vehicle can transport a 610... I found that I'd have to roll in the 410, then carry in the 210 - rather than just roll the 610 I have now - it was a pain in the neck...

I'm much happier with my 610 than I ever was with the 210+410 setup...

Lastly - did you ever try 610s by Mesa or SWR??? Because I've never heard of ANYONE describe either of those cabs as "disappointing"...

Am hoping to find a used one of these float around -- Genz Benz cabs rock...

I have the 210 and love the tone.. Played the 610 once and it sounded great (although someone elses tone was dialed in).

love my rig!

i know there are maybe better cabs out there than the 610 hlf, but this rig is loud as hell! and has earth shaking lows and really nice highs! although it does have alot to do with the head! as before i had an svt pro 6 and it wasnt half as loud, and was kinda muddy when cranked.

If you have the chance, check out a Markbass 610 as well, hands down the best cab I've ever heard. Insanely loud, super tight low end, clear high end, cuts through anything... I love this thing. And it weighs less than 100lb!
