Sign in to disble this ad
So i have a rumble 75 combo amp (off the new line) and i was wondering if i bought a GK 2x10 cab, would i be able to use the line out on the combo amp to power the GK cab, or would i need to buy another head, or could i use my boss me20b to power it...

I am not familiar with that combo, but generally speaking, a line out is just for interfacing to other line level gear. This could be a line input on a recording device, an effects box or a power amp. You could also for instance plug it into another amp. Lots of amp heads and combos have "pre out" followed by a "power amp in" By using a power amp in on a 2nd amp you would be bypassing the preamp/eq of that 2nd amp, simply utilizing the power to bring up your volume.
The me20b is simply an effect pedal, so it can be viewed as a preamp itself.

The short answer is no. In order to use an ext spkr, your amp would have to have ext spkr outputs, which it doesn't. You need another amp head to power the 210, your fx unit won't work either.

The others are right. You can't use an unpowered cabinet without a speaker extension output on your amp. The effects unit doesn't have a power amp either.

If your goal is to increase the volume/speaker area of your Rumble amp, there is a solution....what you need is one of two things:
1) A powered PA speaker--go from the DI/line out of your Rumble into the powered speaker. You can then still go to a mixer from the powered speaker.
2) The other alternative is to buy a power amp and bass cabinet, then go from the DI/line out of your rumble into that.

**Another alternative is to just buy another amp...even another Rumble 75, then use a stereo effect pedal to run into each amp input.
