Help with amp clipping

the power amp in my Ashdown Mag 300 is clipping really easily when I play. If i was to purchase another cab and extend it would this help?

as long as the amp in it isn't already running at 4 ohms, it would. but if it is, that would mean the ext speaker jack will be wired in series, which will cut your power to nearly half, thus losing the gains you'd make by adding an extension. i couldn't tell by the manual if this is the case, but i'd make darn sure about it before i bought another cab.

I think you should check your EQ settings. If you have the lowest frequencies jacked up, bring them down and the clipping is likely to disappear.

I'll agree with pilrgrim, first make sure that you aren't clipping the amp due to aggressive EQ....It's pretty easy to do on the Ashdowns. However if it's more volume your looking for, you can only do that with more surface area.

Grab the ABM 300T, it's 8 Ohms and should pair up perfectly with your combo which is 8 Ohms if I remember correctly.

I'ts not the e.q. though because i can switch that off and even when i do the power amp still clips.

not much you can do as is. sounds like you're just playing too loud for your combo to handle what you want to do. i'd either look into the ext cab if your combo is running at 8 ohms, or getting a whole new learger rig.
