Exclamation Help with bass heads.

Okay well I am currently on the search for a good bass head to go with my current rig. I have a Trace Elliot 1048h 300W (English Made) and an Ampeg PR410HLF 600W as well. The head I REALLY want I will never find, Trace Elliot V8, so what do you think would be a good compromise for now? I was thinking an Ampeg SVT4Pro, but I don't know, its hard to compromise. If anyone has any suggestions it would help, I'm not gonna throw out SS heads, I could always get a tube preamp.

personally, I'd go for the Ampeg. What type of music do you play?

I play Rock N' Roll, with some touches of metal. We've been compared to Guns N Roses, Skid Row, and some Motley Crue.

The Ampeg would probably be a good choice, but I would check out a GK 1001RB II also if you can. Tone for each genre is still so subjective, it's best if you can take your bass and cabinet to a store that has a good selection of amp heads to try out.

Don't overlook GK 700-RBII or 1001RB-II. They're awesome for rock, and sound more "tubey" to me than a lot of hybrid head. Also, they can be had used for pretty cheap. Then you can get save some cahs to finally get your TE V8 in some years.
