I have a SWR 350 head with a 8 ohm Avatar 210 and a 8 ohm Fender 115, Im thinking about getting a 410 cab and getting rid of the 115.I kind want to get a 4ohm cab but would it be better to get a 8 ohm and match it up with my 210? Will a 4 ohm and a 8 ohm set my head on fire LOL? My head is rated for 2 ohm but ive read all the its not recommended articles, Thanks!!
just buy another avatar 8 ohm 210. that gives you the same thing as a 4 ohm 410, will be plenty of volume for most anything, plus you can scale it down for low volume situations.
With my 210 and my 115 Although it sounds good its very much lacking in the deep sounding department. I played through a old beat up Hartke Transporter 200 watt 8 ohm 410 the other day and its was much more thicker.Little confused by this??
The notion that a larger speaker equates to deeper bass is simply not true.
There's more to it than that.
Most 410 setups can out-deep a 115 simply because they have more speaker surface area and even small speakers have adequate throw to get the high volume required.
But then, There's more to it than that.
This is why I recommend an additional 210. Generally speaking a 210 is similar to a 115, but identical speaker cone sizes tend to couple up better than mixed sizes.
But did I mention, There's more to it than that? There really is.
