Help! Call JimmyM! My B-15N isnt working!

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently aquired a old B-15N from my school but it isn't working It turns on fine, tubes glow and everything. But once I hit the standby switch on, I get nothing. No output what so ever I did notice whe I power it on the transformer on the right side emits a humming noise almost like a 60 cylce hum but the left makes no noise.. I have gotten the left one to make a similar noise when my cable that goes to my bass buzzes (cause its crappy) but its not the cable I've tried it with a bunch of working cables and I still get nothing. Help!

Well I tried it running into my 4X10 which works fine and it still doesn't put any sound out.. I tried all of the inputs and none of them seem to work maybe one of the tubes is shot?

Try cleaning all of the switches.

I have an Ampeg V4 that wouldn't put out anything what so ever on its 8 ohm tap... due to a very, very, very dirty switch.

even if one of the tubes was 'shot', it would still make some noise. maybe not pretty sounding noise, but noise.

if you're not familiar with working on amps, i'd recommend that you take it to a tech.

Rock, i'm the last guy to call with a technical problem but i'd agree it needs to go to the shop.

There's a plug in the back which functions as a line in and line out. Try hooking up with another amp to see if it's a pre or power issue. (make sure you keep the speaker plugged in).
