Help choosing my new rig

I spent some time searching the forums trying to find some info on people using Shuttle 6.0 with either of these speaker set ups to no avail.

I have been Jonesing for a Shuttle 6 for some time & figured on the Shuttle 6 with the 1-12 and then adding a 1-12 estension. However I've found out the 1-12 extension is no longer available. Now I'm torn between the Neo x212 or possibly a Mesa Powerhouse 212 cab.

The issues are the GB212 is only 4 ohm so I could never add another cab. The Mesa 212 is available in 8 ohm so I could add another one later on if I choose. I may never choose to do that but I sure would like to have that option.

I prefer 12" speakers to 10" this is why I'm in this situation.

Currently I'm playing in a country band (my paying gig) and I could get by with the Shuttle 3 with an 8" for that. However I'm also in a 3 piece classic rock format and jamming with a 3rd with a little harder edge to the music. Both of these would better utilize the 12" set up I want.

I don't have an opportunity to try either of these speaker boxes out so I'm looking for some input from a fellow player that has some experience with the the Shuttle line & these bins.

Appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I'd just get the Shuttle head without the little 1x12 cab, and pair it with an 8 ohm 2x12 as you said. Problem is, my ears are not your ears, and that's the ONLY way to know if you'd be happy with it. If it were me, I'd choose a Mesa M6 Carbine with a pair of Powerhouse 2x12's. Could be used with one or two cabs, depending on how loud you need. I love GB's Uber cabs, but not a fan of the Shuttle amps.

Thanks for the input.

I had a chance to try out the Shuttle 6 1-12 combo and really liked the sounds I got out of it. The difficulty is wanting to have a 2 - 12" speakers. I am pretty much decided on the Shuttle 6.0 but may upgrade to the 9.0 version if I come across a good deal on one. From one of the reviews on the shuttles I saw (Ed Friedland) it was mentioned the 9.0 has a better low end response.

My biggest concern is the committing to a cab when the closest one is a 5 hour drive through the mountains in winter. That's why I'm looking for some input from someone who has had some experience with both models.
