Question Help? Is this a decent combo & price?

Hey,
I found a Genz Benz M Line 200 combo w/2x10s locally. It seems to be in decent condition cosmetically. I'm planning on trying it out with a bass probably tomorrow. The reviews I've read say positive things about the tone and tonal controls/options of these combos. I saw that these were roughly $700 new. The one I'm looking at is right around $250.

Are these decent combos and would that be a reasonable price?

Does anyone have experience with these and what would you think about using it with a 5-string? This will be used for small gigs and jam sessions. I know the wattage isn't very high but if the tone and drivers are good and can deliver the low-B, that's what I'm looking for.

What say you?

Thanks in advance.

The ML-200 is the amp that the Shuttle 3.0 was based on and is very similar in features, just not as powerful, small or lightweight.

Note that we still service and stock all parts for the ML-200. Here's a copy of the owner's manual:

Thanks for the input so far. Thanks for the link, horse.

Now, if I can find a way to sneak it past my wife...

BTW, that Shuttle looks like a neat, little package.

C'mon man, get creative. If you carry the combo in with flowers, all she's gonna notice is the flowers. Follow this with "you better hurry up and get ready since I am taking you out to dinner." By the time she recovers, she'll never notice the combo.

^^ See! This is what I'm talking about!

...and all I was thinking of was sneaking it in and covering it with a black cloth in the hopes she doesn't see A LARGE, BLACK BOX sitting in the corner.

I'm so lame...

I have one just like that and it is a great sounding combo.
It is a very clean sounding amp with lots of EQ options.
It can do lows, but not as well as a 15. Over all I would think it would handle a 5er just fine.
It works for small gigs and practices. $250 is a friggin steal....GO BUY IT NOW!

Well, if it's a friggin' steal @ $250 than the cops should be right behind me for...$235!!
Went and plugged into it, tested it out, everything worked just find. Rattled the shelves in the store. Did the old, "Does it come with an amp cover?" (of course not)
So the guy said, "Uh...no."
"Well, will you knock $15 off then?"
"Uh...OK."
Prolly should have asked for more like $20.

So I got it for $235.
I figure that's pretty reasonable.

As far as my wife goes...Knowing how to avoid a fight, I just told her about it ahead of time and she was cool with it. "Sure get it if it's what you want." Not to mention, she has some jewelry arriving tomorrow so she's in a very good mood.

* Thanks for the help, guys.

You got an awesome deal on that amp. I used to own one and sometimes wish I still had it. It sounded good and was plenty loud for small gigs.

Yeah, Even though it was replaced by my Mesa Buster and 115 as my main rig I will never sell it because it is so handy and sounds great. It works really well for upright too.

Finally got to use it for real! Played a party outdoors last weekend (about 40 guests). Finally got to turn it up. I can't turn it up at home. This bugger sounds really nice! That parametric midrange control was a nice feature to play with.
