Sign in to disble this ad
I am on loan possible to purchase a Earth B-2000 from a friend and dont know if it can handle a 2 Ohm load or not?? I have done some digging and one one knows what ohm load it is period. So i was wondering if anyone has used one and if it will take a 2 ohm load safely. I currently have my 4 ohm 115 hooked up and its working fine right now. PIC BELOW

Thanks for any help!

I don't know but I already hate you just based on all the cool old basses you own.
Okay, seriously, I wouldnt expect The Earth to do 2 ohms. IIRC they were mostly a 2nd tier builder. Their cabs are kind of Peavey knock offs right? Also, except for one or two exceptions I can't think of any solidstate heads that could do 2 ohms back when those were current. There must be an Earth collectors site someplace. There is for every other odd bit of gear these days.

I had an Earth Super Guitar that I payed $100 for & ran @ 2 ohms a few times. I never pushed the head very hard, but, It never gave me a hiccup. If it is not yours I would not try it though.

This amp is 100w tube not SS and I "at times" will want to push it into tube OD, I am in the market for another 115 and would want to run both at the same time. Hopefully I get a call for a gig tonight and can take it out to put it though the paces. If not my old heavy rock band has practice Sunday and ill pit it against a engl and bogner.

Since Earth gear was a derivitive of early Kustom, and I'm pretty sure that, at the time, Kustom didn't make 2 ohm heads, I would guess that it's 4 ohms.

It is 4ohm...I own the same head. I am looking for a good cabinet setup, then I will refurbish some of the caps and resistors.
