Help finding an outstanding Studio Amp Head...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to check out this thread.

I recently picked up a Fostex VF160EX Digital Multitracker.

I'm tired of the signal and quality loss of the USB to software interface I've been using. Sure... I can use GuitarRig4 to create an endless series of tones and effects but the richess and depth that you hear when you plug into a REAL amp isn't there.

I need an amp head. One that will have a pre-amp line out, not a speaker out... speaker-out lines like to fry the inputs of multitrackers.

I'd also LOVE to be able to connect the amp to my computer interface for recording in Pro-Tools or Sound Forge (I have PC and Mac workstations).

I've been too busy to really research this and besides... this IS the BEST community of BASSISTS in the world. I've always gotten great advice from the members of TB.

Thanks again!

Avalon vt737sp; its an integrated pre-amp, compressor, and EQ unit good for vocals and instruments, and it's just the bomb for bass. I assume cost is no object since you didn't provide any price requirements.

I have been very happy running my Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II straight into my Mac. You can dial in clean to nice gritty distortion depending on the needs of the track.
