HELP GK 1001rb into Ampeg 410hlf

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a 1001rb and have been running it through an ampeg 410hlf. Everything was working fine till I noticed smoke coming from the cab, checked the wiring and figured out, based off of an ampeg 410hlf schematic, that the 410 was wired improperly so I rewired it. Than two of the 4 speaker blew and the 3rd one is on the verge of blowing. I can't figure out why. I realize that the amp is rated at 700 watts @ 4 ohms and the cab can handle 500 watts @ 4 ohms so the only thing I can honestly think of is that I may be over powering the HLF.

Any recommendations as to what to do or has anybody had this problem? Anything will help!!!

GK gives very honest ratings about their outputs unlike some companies and their amps don't use current limiters. So-long, speakers.
