Help with heads and cabs

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I'm new to talkbass, so sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

I have a genz benz shuttle 3.0-10t combo and i was thinking of getting a fender rumble 410 cab for it i was wondering if it would work out.

I would also appreciate it if you could recommend me a good cheap head and 410 combo, I was looking at the ampeg pf 500
thanks for the help

Welcome.
The 410 would certainly work with yr Shuttle, & be HEAPS louder than the cab u r using now. 300w is plenty of power when you give it lots of speakers to push air thru.
The Ampeg PF500 is a great amp, especially for it's price.
For cheap cab, check out the Talk Bass classifieds. Best to go 2nd hand

Avatar cabs are good bang for the buck.
Get a 4ohm cab(GB=300watts) and use your 1x10 for practice.
or maybe get a couple of 8ohm 2x12 cabs for a really modular setup (and move a lot of air).
or a couple of these will do you good: http://www.avatarspeakers.com/TB153.htm

2 2x12"s would be a good choice, or 2 x 2x10"s, as long as each cab is 8 ohms, so a 4 ohm load is given to your amp.
Again, check the TB 4 SALE'S. Get matching cabs too. eg. 2 GK, or similar 212's, or 2 Peavey/Avatar 210's -for a 'modular' rig. U could use one 212 or both for louder gigs.
A single 410 is good too.
Get a 4 ohm one if that is the only cab you'll use with the amp.
