Help!M6 Carbine sounds overdriven and very mid heavy!

Lately I've notice my Carbine sounds a tad distorted Could this mean I need to change the tube in the pre? I've had her about 7 months but I play it a lot (4 nights a week).FWIW my cab is a Mesa 4x10 (the one with the black grill, I'm not sure what that model is called).

Stupid question, but are your strings dead?

Brand new DR Hi Beams last night, new battery in pre, I sound like I 'm slightly distorted, everyone in the band notices. It cuts thru good but I like big and warm I rolled the gain down to 10 o clock and compensated with Master.

A preamp tube only costs 8-10 bucks, so it wouldn't hurt to try.

Also, could be a damaged speaker, but hopefully not. Try a new preamp tube and see how it goes.
