I need some help deciding between a gk 700rb II or a 800rb, I'm currently using a 70s era peavey 215D...2x15 black widows...cab is rated 400watts at 4ohms. My band plays prog/groove metal , extremely present mid focused lead lines on my part.. so if anyfellow bassist have suggestions, I'm am all ears

I have an 800RB and love it- I'd think it would do exactly what you are looking for- it can sound quite grindy and pissed off if you want it to- more Boost= more grind.
I have no experience with the 700 but my understanding is it's generally cleaner and goes higher/deeper, where the 800 is more mid-focused and angry.

I dunno. Hard to describe, you have to try it. It's the 'GK grind.'
