Is the Genz in Genz Benz pronounced

Genz or Jenz ... I bet a buddy of mine a tall black and tan at the next Monday night at Buffalo Wings.. I said it's G he said it's J .. Who's buying the tall one?

It's a take on the German surname Gensler. G isn't pronounced J when it comes before an e in german. It's Genz, not Jenz.

May be Austrian or something but Germanic anyway. The guys name is Jeff Gensler.
