Help me find a new combo!

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm moving to college, where I'm moving into an apartment with a room for myself. This means I can't take my big expensive gear. So my questions is:

What is a good (micro?) combo amp this is small. Weight is not an issue, but I'm talking like Mesa walkabout scout size. Tiny. I'd like it if it could pump out some serious noise, but its not that big of an issue. Maybe 100 watts, 150 watts max.

Size comparison, I have a ampeg BA-115, it's got a 15" speaker in it, and I think it's a little to big (and I just don't like how it sounds).
Spending price: I'm trying to keep this sub $300, and used is totally okay if someone knows of a FS ad here in the classifieds.

So what do you guys got for me?

Check out a G-K MB112. You can get one new for $300 if you hunt.

I have the MB212 and I absolutely LOVE everything about it. If the 112 has some of the same qualities, I'd recommend that as well.

go for Walkabout Scout 115!

Walkabouts are just great, I think 12"-4ohm version is good enough but not for every situations, it is very loud for just 1x12" cab. There is more power than in other 12's cabs. I used this combo for 80% of my giging (for 3 years!)...well I have Scout 115-4ohm version for week or so and I have to tell you this is "real thing" it's not small, it's jus little heavier than 112, but you can cover much more situations with this combo, it's more deep, tight and more volume...I'm very happy with it...
