Help me pick a combo amp...

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently have the Ashdown Five fifteen combo amp. I am running it through a DI box for a little PA support. I play in a Blues/ Classic rock band, (Medium Venue).. I have the gain dimed, and the master on 2 Oclock. No distortion, and has plenty of bottom. I probably have another 9 days to return her if I'm not satisfied, paid $217.00 for her.

Next is a Yorkville XM 200 2x10 that should be arriving soon for me to try out. I forgot to mention I can't carry anything to heavy up two flights of stairs ..55 LBS. This amp costs $245.00.

Last but not least is a Hartke Kickback 12 , 120 watts, XLR out. I should be trying that one out tomorrow. $180.00 for that one , and it weighs 42 LBS..

I would like to add I'm on a $300.00 budget. I wish I could afford the New GK MB 200 115 @ $399.00. Any other suggestions are appreciated...

best i can tell you is to get the one that does the best job for you. it's kind of like picking out a girlfriend for you. i'd be tempted to go with the yorkie since it's the biggest, but you just never know.

I used to own a Yorkville 1x15 combo and it was built like a tank. Sounded good too.

I've also used a Yorkville 2x10 before too, at a local jam night, and the tone really blew me away. Not sure if it was the exact same as the one you have there, but Yorkville makes good stuff for sure.
