Help my Carvin R1000 Front End is Dead

HELP !!!

My faithful R1000 rev. N, is giving up the ghost. It buzzes like crazy, and it sounds like the treble knob and, the treble boost are always on. When you turn them both on off, up down, it seems like no change. I HAVE tried the ribbon cable, all connectors, jacks cleaning, no change.

But what I have found is, when I bypass the front end ie: plug in to the return of the, send return, so you are going in after the tone controls knobs BUT, coming in before the Graphic EQ, The power amp and Graphic EQ are fine.

I understand that Carvin won't repair these anymore, and I know about the exchange program. But I was hoping that:

A) Somebody might have a dead one with a bad power amp section and a good preamp board from a R1000 or R600 Rev. N or better (or any that will work) that they might be willing to sell or,

B) Someone willing to work on mine.

Thoughts?

Thanks
phil

PS. Hey Carvin, are you sure you guys don't have an old front
end board kicking around, under a bench, in a locker or something?

PPS. Yes I'm hip to the trade in thang. I'm trying to fix it on the cheep, if I have to spend a lot to fix, I'll just trade it for a BX1500!

Where you located? I do have an R1000 with a blown power amp section sitting in my shop. I was gonna strip it for parts but if your interested maybe we can make a deal.

On some products, that they do not support as far as repairs, you can send back the carcass and some money for a new version. Check Service for more info.

The preamp blew in my RL1000 several years ago. I use an RBI. Sounds much better than the Carvin pre anyway.
