Help needed on amp choice .....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, I need some advice. I have a choice between a Trace Elliot 7215 Combo ( 250 watts, single 15" combo) or a Warwick Pro Fet 3.3 with matching 4x 10 cab. Any advice on pros & cons on either rig would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The combo is expandable, but the separate head/cab is still more versatile, and with the 410, ( probably) already louder

Is the 410 an eight or four-ohm cab?

+1 a head with a 4x10 is already a step above a 15" combo amp, though if the combo is capable of adding an additonal 15, that could be pretty cool as well.

I'll find out about the 4 x 10 cab, is it better to have an 8 ohm or 4 ohm? I'm assuming that if the cab was 8 ohm, then you could run a second 8 ohm cab from the same head. The combo has the ability to run another 8 ohm cab off of it.

Ok, the 410 cab is 8 ohm. Whilst I was at the store checking the cab, I found 2 other amps. So I have a choice between the Trace 7215 combo, Warwick Pro Fet 3.3 w/410 cab, Marshall MB4210 combo and a Hartke HA5500 head, I'd just have to find a cab. I'm looking for reliabilty and versatility. Are any of these stand outs, should I avoid any of these?

Thanks again for the advice.
