Help a noob find a cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all, I'm pretty new to this bass playing stuff, just started in January. Being that as it is, I'm pretty unfamiliar with all the gear.

Here's my question, I just purchased a hartke lh500, (from TB) and I need a good cab recommendation. I don't plan on doing any gigging anytime soon or anything, but I don't want to limit myself if that day does come.

I'm leaning towards a 210, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm also on a pretty tight budget, don't wanna spend more than 2-250 bucks. I'd just like some opinions from those who are more experienced. I'm using a traben phoenix 4 string if it makes any difference to anyone lol. Thanks

Where are you located? I could check the kijiji/craigslist for your area and make some recommendations.

also check your local guitar center for their used cab section.

On the to-do list. Unfortunately, the only 2 close to me are over an hour away. I've checked the local mom and pop shops and bass equipment in general is pretty sparse, much less cabs.

Any thoughts on an avatar b210? Its a 4 ohm cab, but I'm not particularly worried about running another cab anytime soon.

If you're gonna get an avatar, buy one off of TB. You could get an 8 ohm cab for 250. It would sound great, and you would always have the option to add another cab down the line.

In this situation I almost always recommend 8 ohms for a 2x10. That way you can always add another 8 ohm 2x10 later for a total of 4 ohms.
