the band i recently joined uses 2 QSC amps, unfortunately one of them stopped working.

according to the local tech these 2 components are broken:

local shops don't have these parts available, many don't know what they are anyway so can anybody help me to source them?

many thanks!

Unfortunately your picture isn't clear enough for me to see the part number clearly but go here www.digikey.com and type into the search field the part number that starts with 'I' and ends with, I think, a 'C'.

Turock: I learned to play through an instructor, then I got an amp and now I play through that.

Just contact QSC and I'm sure they will have a local repair centre sort you out.

Contact TBer Bob Lee http://www.talkbass.com/forum/member.php?u=17254 for assistance. If he can't help you, nobody can.

The important information is the part number/s which are on the other side.

Something like these
2Nxxxx
Cxxxx - (2SCxxxx but the 2S is not printed)
Jxxxx - (again 2S not printed)
MJExxxx
(or something else)

There could also be a date code something like 0248 (2002 week 48) and a manufactures symbol.

Good clear photos of what is printed on them are essential as the list of possible devices goes on forever.

That's much better.

The manufacturer is IXYS
Part number IXGH 32N60C

produced in week 36 of 1999

They are specialised switching transistors and should be replaced with only that part number.

I'm wondering a bit because the two transistors probably died just the same moment.
In general that indicates another fault/defect somewhere in the narrow circuit.

As they are used in either a switched mode power supply or a chopped output stage* (class D etc.) then you need to check absolutely everything in that section. Otherwise you could be putting in a repeat order after the first switch on.

* I don't know which as I have not seen a schematic for this amp (but would be very interested to see one).
