Help with speaker replacement on 2 x 15 Bassman 135 cab

Hello,

I have to change two 15'' speakers in Bassman 135 cab, that i use with bassman 135 head.

speakers are in vertical position, and the cab looks the same as on the picture below.

In my country, there are only eminence speakers available -
so I ask you to help me choose the right model of eminence speakers.




any help would be welcome...

a pair of eminence deltalite 15's will work great with that rig, fabulously great. kappalites would be overkill with a 120 watt amp and the difference between the two is very slight at that power range

Even deltalites will be overkill. I have a 135. Forget about excursion, xmax, deep deep bass and all that, go for spl. A pair of delta 15a's (not LF's) will sound great. Beta 15's with their midbass hump will get you good output as well. The betas tone may not be as sweet as the deltas but still quite good. EV 15L's are another good choice for that head but you mention eminence as being available locally. Delta's would be my first choice, if money is an issue (I don't know what this stuff costs in other countries) get the betas.

While you're in there, line the inside of the cab (mine wasn't) with mattress pad foam or quilt batting, 2.5-4 cm. thick. That'll improve the tone as well. I like those rigs, one of my favorite series of amps (bassman).

I ordered two delta's, and it will be shipped tomorrow. I will listen to your advice for lining the inside of the cab.

So, I'll tell you my impressions as soon as i instal the speakers...
