Hey there all,
The more I listen to demos of the Fusion 550 and lust over tubey goodness, the more I am tempted to switch out my go-to head for years, the 1001RB-II. The simple fact that the effects loop is in the back is also tempting me. Has there been much positive experience with this switch?
My plan is to sell the GK 1001RB-II with a 410RBH, hopefully for around $900, then buy the Fusion 550 used for ~$600. With the difference I can either buy a Peavey Patriot, another T-40, or splurge on pedals. Or, you know, be responsible with my money and use it for grown-up stuff.
I'm not at all worried about discrepency in volume; 500 watts seems perfect. If it helps you guys out, I'll be playing through two Neo 212's. But, is the tube stage that noticably warmer? Without the individual woofer/tweeter controls, is the bi-amp function just as good? I'd appreciate TB's opinion on all this
Thanks,
Alec
