HELP! SWR WorkingPro 700 + Workingpro 4x10 cab 4 ohms

Sign in to disble this ad
hi!

I recently bought a WorkingPro 700, (710 watts, 4ohms) and a workingpro 4x10 cab 4 ohms. (400 watts)

Does the power head is split in half in his two ouputs?
or Is my cabinet in danger if I turn up too much the master volume?

thanks, I hope your answer soon

No. The amount of power won't be split. If you have one 4 ohm cab plugged in, then you are capable of putting all 710w into it.

Yes. This is where common sense comes into play. Turn down if it sounds like it's struggling, and you will be OK.

yes you "could" damage the cab by the fact that you are running the cab at more watts than it is rated for, but the truth of the situation is that if you are not cranking the amp at full volume and the speakers are not distorting then you are not doing any damage at all and some people prefer to run their rigs this way.

I often run 1500watts into a 210 cab that is rated for 400watts. As long as I listen carefully to my tone and how the speakers are reacting it is absolutely fine. You can hear when your speakers are starting to struggle because their tone usually changes just before they actually start to distort... they drop a bit of low end and get a bit of a muffled honky sound. As soon as you hear that, back off of your volume a bit
