Help w/ Tour 450 and gig rack...

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm wanting to put my Peavey Tour 450 in a gig rack a friend gave me. I tried putting it in the very bottom rack space but the rubber feet on the amp prevents me from doing so. Is it okay to remove the rubber feet or are they holding something in place inside the amp? I backed one screw out just a little and it feels like the rubber foot is stuck onto the bottom also.
Another thing...Does the amp need to be sitting in the bottom space? I started to move it up a space, that way I could keep the feet on it but the only screws that would be holding it in place would be the 4 on front. If I can get it in the bottom space the 4 screws would be holding it plus it would be resting on the 2 back feet.
Sorry, I never used one of these before. Thanks for the help.

Yes, the feet can be removed, and the 4 screws on the front should support it enough. There are kits to rack it on the back as well, but not for all amps.

I thought I read that on here somewhere but I couldn't find it. It seems like the feet may glued along with screws. Do you think that would be a good idea...putting it on the bottom and having the front 4 screws holding it plus the back feet would be in contact with the case too? Thanks for your quick reply...I appreciate the help.

You could get by with no feet at all. I had a Peavy Megabass head in a rack once. That head weighted almost 40lbs, the 4 bolts on the front held it in place very well with no problems at all.

That's good to know. I left the rear feet on but they don't sit on the case like I thought they would. The rack case is used but I cleaned it up and it looks good. The amp is in and ready to go. Thanks for the help.
