Hiwatt Amplification has stopped operations until further notice.

Anyone know what this is all about?

http://www.hiwatt.com/

I did a quick search on TB, but didn't find anything.

Are they part of Fender now?

I thought I saw a mention how Fender was shutting down operations for a couple amp brands under their label.

Hmmmm. Weird.

I bet they aren't selling a ton of new gear though.

The have a great legacy and history... But they are still a business.

Bad times for the industry.

Svetlana has shut down their consumer tube division. Unless someone else picks it up, there will be no more Winged C tubes being produced.

This might be just one of the various people that bought the rights to the Hiwatt name in whatever territory. Its just a name so don't sweat it. The stuff that made Hiwatt amps good is found under other names now anyway.

EH seems to come out with announcement every 6 months or so that this is coming. Along the lines of Russian real estate moguls want the property.

Distribution is handled by PM Components LTD in the UK and parts of the world. No announcement from them. The SED consumer tube web site hasn't been updated in a while so no news is available from them directly. EH is something else.
